How to use this page

Every step of Docks2Doc is covered in ten short chapters. Chapter 1 starts with signing up and creating your account — if you are brand new, start there and work forward. If you already have an account, skip ahead to the chapter that matches what you are trying to do.

Each chapter is a few minutes long and shows the actual screens you will use. Watch on your phone or on a desktop; both work the same way.

Chapters 1–10

Chapter 01

Chapter 01 · Sign Up & Create Your Account

At a glance: Create your carrier/broker account and log in for the first time.

Prefer a direct watch page? Watch Chapter 01 on YouTube

Runtime: approx. 3-4 minutes | Written summary: included below the video

What you will learn

This chapter walks through the very first step: creating your account. You will choose the account type that matches your business, enter your company details, and add the identifying information that lets shippers, receivers, and drivers confirm they are working with the right company. You will also see what happens after you submit — the verification email, and the first time you log in.

Key takeaways

  • Choose the right account type before you start
  • Enter your legal company name and identifying numbers exactly as they appear on your authority documents
  • Complete email verification so your account becomes active

Chapter 02

Chapter 02 · Login & Your Portal Overview

At a glance: A tour of your dashboard and where everything lives.

Prefer a direct watch page? Watch Chapter 02 on YouTube

What you will learn

This chapter is the map of your portal. You will see the main navigation, the load board, active loads, your documents, billing, messages, and notifications — and what each area is for. By the end you will know exactly where to go for the task in front of you, without hunting through menus.

Key takeaways

  • Know where active loads, documents, and billing live
  • Understand what each notification actually means
  • Learn how to move between sections quickly

Chapter 03

Chapter 03 · Complete Your Company Profile

At a glance: Fill in the company details that make your account credible.

Prefer a direct watch page? Watch Chapter 03 on YouTube

What you will learn

A complete profile is what lets a shipper or receiver trust the company on the other end of a load. This chapter covers your company record in full: legal and operating names, address and contact information, authority and safety details, insurance certificates, and your billing preferences. You will also see where the company information that appears on your documents comes from — so the paperwork that reaches a shipper carries your correct details.

Key takeaways

  • Your profile details flow through to every document you send
  • Upload insurance and authority documents so they are on file
  • Keep billing and remit-to information current so payments are not delayed

Chapter 04

Chapter 04 · Set Up Terminals & Team

At a glance: Build your corporate headquarters and terminal structure, and add your people.

Prefer a direct watch page? Watch Chapter 04 on YouTube

What you will learn

This chapter is for companies with more than one location. You will set up your corporate headquarters and add your terminals, yards, and facilities underneath it — then invite the people who work in each one and assign them a role. You will see how headquarters-level oversight differs from what an individual terminal sees, so you can give each person exactly the access their job requires.

Key takeaways

  • Set up headquarters first, then attach terminals to it
  • Invite team members by email and assign a role
  • Remember that each person holds one role per login and signs out to switch

Chapter 05

Chapter 05 · Add Drivers & Equipment

At a glance: Get your drivers and your tractors and trailers into the system.

Prefer a direct watch page? Watch Chapter 05 on YouTube

What you will learn

Here you will add drivers to your company, send them their invitation, and see what they see once they accept. You will also add your equipment — tractors and trailers — and assign it to drivers, so when a load is dispatched everyone knows what is pulling it. Driver documents such as licence and medical certification are handled here as well, so your records stay current.

Key takeaways

  • Drivers are added by invitation and accept on their own device
  • Equipment is assigned to a driver, not just to the company
  • Driver documents stay on file and current

Chapter 06

Chapter 06 · Posting & Finding Loads

At a glance: Post your own loads and work the load board.

Prefer a direct watch page? Watch Chapter 06 on YouTube

What you will learn

This chapter covers both directions of the load board. You will post a load with its pickup, delivery, equipment requirements, dates, and rate, and you will see the difference between a private network load and a public posting. You will also learn to search and filter the board for loads that fit your equipment and your lanes, and how to move a load you have found into your active list.

Key takeaways

  • Private network loads are free — public postings require a subscription
  • Enter accurate pickup and delivery details, because they drive every downstream notice
  • Filter by lane and equipment to avoid empty miles

Chapter 07

Chapter 07 · How a Load Flows (Email Push-Forward)

At a glance: Follow one load from order to invoice and see every email it triggers.

Prefer a direct watch page? Watch Chapter 07 on YouTube

What you will learn

This is the chapter that explains why Docks2Doc exists. You will follow a single load all the way through: the order going to the shipper, the load and bill of lading going to the carrier or broker, the load going to the assigned driver, the check-in notices, the signatures, and finally the invoice. Every one of those steps is sent automatically as a PDF to the people who need it, so nobody has to chase anyone for a copy of anything.

Key takeaways

  • Every step is emailed as a PDF — the record exists without anyone asking for it
  • The bill of lading is generated and distributed automatically
  • Nobody can say they did not receive it, because the send is on the record

Chapter 08

Chapter 08 · On the Road: Driver Check-In

At a glance: What happens when the driver arrives — automatically.

Prefer a direct watch page? Watch Chapter 08 on YouTube

What you will learn

This chapter follows the driver on the road. When the driver reaches the pickup or the delivery, they tap Arrived and the system records a GPS timestamp and sends the check-in notice to the shipper, the receiver, or the guard shack — instantly. You will see what that notice looks like on the receiving end, how the driver uploads documents from the phone, and how status updates and messages flow back to you so you are not making status calls.

Key takeaways

  • Check-in is one tap and fires automatically to the receiving facility
  • No dispatcher status calls are needed
  • Drivers can upload documents from the phone at the dock

Chapter 09

Chapter 09 · Delivery, Signature & Easy Billing

At a glance: The receiver signs, the BOL is stored, and the invoice goes out.

Prefer a direct watch page? Watch Chapter 09 on YouTube

What you will learn

This chapter closes the loop. At delivery, the receiver signs on screen and the signed bill of lading is stored in the cloud immediately. A second signature email goes to every participant, and the invoice generates automatically with the signed bill of lading already attached. You will also see how payment status comes back to you so you always know where your money is.

Key takeaways

  • The receiver signs on screen — no paper, no scanning
  • The signed BOL attaches itself to the invoice
  • Payment status is visible at every stage

Chapter 10

Chapter 10 · HQ Control, Ratings & Best Outcomes

At a glance: Run the business from headquarters and keep your reputation clean.

Prefer a direct watch page? Watch Chapter 10 on YouTube

What you will learn

The final chapter is the oversight view. You will see how an owner or manager monitors every terminal, employee, transaction, and report from headquarters, and how to manage users and accounts across locations. It also covers the rating and rebuttal system — how a transaction gets rated, and how your company can respond if a rating is unfair — and closes with the practices that get the best results out of the platform.

Key takeaways

  • Headquarters oversight covers every terminal, employee, and transaction
  • Every party can rate a transaction and every party has the right to respond
  • Keeping documents and check-ins current is what protects your rating
